TOURIST VISA (VITUR) FOR BRAZIL

The following requirements only apply to residents of the states listed below:

  • Connecticut
  • Delaware
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania

  1. ACTUAL PASSPORT

    You must send your actual passport. The visa will be stamped on a page in your passport. Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity left beyond your intended stay, and must have at least 2 blank visa pages side by side. Amendment pages (pages 22, 23 and 24) do not count.

  2. E-VISA APPLICATION

    Each applicant must complete an eVisa Application for Brazil on SCEDV web site. On the home page of SCEDV web site, click "VISA REQUEST" under "VISA" Section on the left menu. An application number will be assigned to you once you have completed entering the information. You are required to submit a signed receipt. The signature on the receipt must be original, not faxed or photocopied. Also, the signature should match the one in your passport.

    Application receipt for minors must be signed by both parents, and notarized.

    Minors under age 18 must submit additional documents listed below:

    1. Notarized copy of birth certificate;
    2. Notarized copy of Travel Authorization Form for Minors.

  4. PHOTOGRAPH

    Adult applicants should submit one color photograph. Minors should submit two color photographs. Photographs should be 2" x 2" in size, taken against a plain white background. Snapshots or computer pictures will not be accepted. Click here to download photo guidelines.

  5. TRAVEL ITINERARY

    Provide a copy of your flight itinerary or copy of the round trip tickets, or cruise itinerary showing the entry and exit dates to and from Brazil.

  6. PROOF OF RESIDENCY

    Provide a photocopy of driver's license as proof of residency.

  7. LETTER OF INVITATION (if applicable)

    Applicants visiting family or friends in Brazil must provide a letter of invitation from the inviting party. The letter must be addressed to the Consulate of Brazil, and the relationship with the applicant must be stated. If the inviting party is Brazilian, provide their Brazilian ID number. If the inviting party is on a Brazilian visa, provide the type of the visa. This letter must be notarized in Brazil then faxed to the applicant to submit with the visa application.

  8. PROOF OF U.S. STATUS (For non-U.S. citizen only)

    Non-U.S. citizen should submit proof of U.S. status (e.g. photocopy of U.S. permanent resident card or photocopy of U.S. visa.)

  9. VACCINATION (If applicable)

    For children between the ages of 3 months and 6 years, copy of International Certificate of Vaccination showing valid polio vaccination is required.

    If applicant traveled within the last 90 days to any of the following countries: Angola, Bolivia, Benin, Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, French Guiana, Gabon, Ghana, Gambia, Republic of Guinea, Liberia, Nigeria, Peru, Sierra Leone, Sudan, or Venezuela, yellow fever vaccination certificate is required.

    Please note that yellow fever vaccination is advisable if applicant's destination in Brazil includes any of the following States: Acre, Amapá, Amazonas, Federal District, Goiás, Maranhão, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Pará, Rondônia, Roraima, and Tocantins.

  10. CONSULATE FEE

    Regular processing takes approximately 10 business days. Rush processing takes approximately 6 business days. Please note that rush processing does not apply to minors. Processing time commences from the day the application submitted to the consulate. Saturdays, Sundays and consulate scheduled holidays do not count as processing days.

    The Consulate of Brazil will make the final determination on the validity of the visa and the length of stay allowed. First entry must be made within 90 days from date of issue, or visa will become invalid.

    • U.S. citizen: $150.00 per visa
    • Non U.S. citizen: Consulate fee varies according to nationality (Please call 888-821-8472 for information.)

  11. SERVICE FEE

    $69.00 per visa - 10 business day processing
    $100.00 per visa - 6 business day processing

  12. RETURN FEDEX EXPRESS

    $23.00 per address (up to 3 passports)
    $28.00 per address (4 to 6 passports)
    $35.00 per address (Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico or Saturday Delivery)

NOTE:

  • Brazil born applicants must travel on their Brazilian passport, unless they can provide a letter issued from the Consulate of Brazil stating that they have relinquished their Brazilian citizenship.

  • Applicants, whose parent(s) was/were born in Brazil, must apply for a Brazilian passport to enter and exit Brazil.

  • Brazilians who have acquired another nationality will only receive a visa if they have renounced their Brazilian citizenship and it has been made official in Brazil.
