BORDER GUARD PERMIT FOR RUSSIA

Russian Border guard permits, or BPGs, are needed for people traveling to the Sakhalin area. A Russian BPG is a special border zone pass issued and authorized by the local military administration and local equivalent of the FBI. All of Sakhalin is considered a restricted area under a special border control and according to the rules and regulations, ALL travelers present in the territory of Sakhalin are required to have those permits.

The normal processing time to obtain a BGP is 10 business days.

There are three different kinds of Russian BGPs:

  1. ISLAND PERMIT: This permit covers the main part of Sakhalin.
  2. SPECIAL ZONE PERMIT: This permit covers the restricted area of the Kurily Islands.
  3. MARINE PERMIT: This permit allows travelers to get in and out of ports and use boats as means of transportation in and out of the area.

The followings are the requirements for obtaining a border guard permit for Russia:

  1. VALID BUSINESS VISA FOR RUSSIA

    A scanned copy of a valid Russian business visa email to us at info@passportsplus.com.

  2. PASSPORT COPY

    A scanned copy of the photo/information page from your valid passport email to us at info@passportsplus.com.

  3. BORDER GUARD PERMIT REQUEST FORM

  4. FEE

    • Island Permit: $205.00
    • Special Zone Permit: $225.00
    • Marine Permit: $225.00

  5. DELIVERY METHOD AND COST

    BGP can either be picked up in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk or if you prefer, it can be delivered to the traveler's hotel or business for an additional $25.00 charge. The original BGP can also be sent anywhere in the world via UPS for an additional $50.00 charge. Please indicate on the request form where you would like the BGP to be delivered to upon completion. When the BGP has been completed, we will scan a copy and e mail it to you, but the original is needed for use in Russia.
