VISA FOR THE UNITED KINGDOM

U.S. passport holders do not need a visa to enter the United Kingdom for business or tourism, and can stay for up to 6 months.

Applicant wishes to apply for a tourist or business visa to enter the United Kingdom, they must first register visa application via E-fastrack system at BritainUSA web site, fully pay the consulate fee with credit card, and submit the E-fastrack acceptance with the requirements listed below:

  1. ACTUAL PASSPORT

    You must send your actual passport. The visa will be stamped on a page in your passport. Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity left beyond your intended stay, and must have at least 2 blank visa pages side by side. Amendment pages do not count.

  2. PAYMENT CONFIRMATION AND APPLICATION

    Payment confirmation and application printed out from the E-fastrack system.

  3. CONFIRMATION OF BIOMETRIC DATA

    After you complete with the E-fastrack system and pay online, you will be directed to make an appointment at one of the Application Support Centres in your area in order to submit your biometric data. Biometric data includes digitally scan of all 10 fingerprints and a digital photo.

  4. EMAIL RECEIPT FROM WORLDBRIDGE SERVICE

    Starting Jun 1, 2010, a priority service fee is charged by WorldBridge Service for all visa applications that is submitted through a visa service. Applicant should follow the steps listed below to complete the payment:

    • Go to the homepage of WorldBridge Service web site at http://www.worldbridgeservice.com;

    • Select "United States" under the drop down menu ;

    • On the left menu of "UK Visa Application Website in the United States" page, click on ;

    • Under "Designated UK Border Agency visa section" drop down menu, select the consulate (Chicago, Los Angeles or New York) that listed on your visa application;

    • On the next page, under title "Services", click under Priority Service. The fee should be $150.00 USD;

    • On the next page, under "Your Cart", click ;

    • Continue to complete the billing information on the remaining pages;

    • Once the payment is made, an email receipt will be sent to you. You must submit a print out of the email receipt.

  6. TWO PHOTOGRAPHS

    Each applicant should submit two color photographs. Photographs should be 2" x 2" in size, taken against a plain white background. Snapshot or computer pictures will not be accepted.

  7. ORIGINAL PROOF OF U.S. STATUS

    Original U.S. permanent resident card, or original U.S. visa with original I-94 to prove your U.S. status. Holders of U.S. F-1 visa must provide original F-1 visa and I-20.

  8. FLIGHT ITINERARY

    Provide a copy of flight itinerary or round trip tickets.

  9. HOTEL CONFIRMATION

    Provide confirmation from the hotel you are staying at while in the United Kingdom.

  10. PROOF OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT

    Copy of last three months' bank statements with ending balances no less than $1,000.00.

  11. PROOF OF HEALTH INSURANCE

    Provide proof of health insurance that covers your stay in the United Kingdom.

  12. LETTER FROM EMPLOYER OR SCHOOL

    Letter from employer verifying your employment and stating that you will be returning to the job after the trip; OR Letter from school stating that you have enrolled for current/following semester.

  13. BUSINESS LETTER (For Business only)

    For business visit, provide a business letter on company letterhead giving details of the nature of visit, including the dates of stay, hotel information and addresses, organization to be visited and a financial guarantee from the company, signed by a senior manager.

  14. LETTER OF INVITATION (For Business only)

    For business visit, provide a letter of invitation from the host company in the United Kingdom stating the nature of visit.

  15. CONSULATE FEE

    Consulate fee will be paid online with your credit card.
